The purpose of discernment is to actually comprehend what is going on; hopefully for the cause of living a meaningful life. Discernment of the Spirit is a gift or talent that provides spiritual insight - even into history itself; which from the viewpoint of the millennia is a very useful talent to have. Discernment of the spirit and what is generally refered to as 'common sense' are very closely related and at important moments - the same. Some will deny this spiritual aspect of existence; promoting instead 'it's' mentality as being 'purely physical'. Be that as it may; the difference [spiritual - physical] is sublime. And the truth of spiritual reality can be understood as GOOD ---- it's 'true way'; being seperate as a division of that which denies this and promotes violence. One aspect of the millennia which promotes spiritual discernment is worthy of both theological and philosophical consideration; the authentic judeo-christian traditon and its relevence to the continuum of human existence - especially its 'just' relations with other traditions of spiritual values. This millennial 'period' - say 1992-2008; has a panoramic aspect - Jerusalem 3000 and the Millennial Jubilees of A.D. 2000 anda global celebration of history which is amazing to consider. These 'contigencies' were and are being enjoyed by a global audience [in spite of the worlds enmity] thanks
to the discreteness and privacy of the global internet and its world wide web. Is this development merely coincedence or is it's 'momentous' development a product of the desire for kinship and peace; usurping a military industrial ediface which would use this incredible power for selfishness and greed? Consider the quality of light that fiber optic networks are capable of providing; it may be appreciated as a remarkable achievment of 'momentous' importance. Disaster relief efforts and environmental monitoring efforts have greatly benefited - helping to save lives, relieve suffering and even forecast large scale geological disasters. An utterly amazing variety of scientific achievements and discoveries have also benefited from collaborative sharing and communications - helping to better organize what 'may become of them'. In terms of the millennia this can be understood as 'prophetic reality'; being shown a vision of things which 'will be' - people can prepare themselves for what must be done to counter act great calamities and work to help [being prepared] what can be done. The relevance of the spiritual to the physical is being demonstrated for all who want to understand. In fact - providing technologic developments which make the IMMENSE Universe of Astronomic observation; that 'space' exploration is revealing - even more compelling than 'starry nights' already do!

were demonstrated during this period. Both 'undergird' the correspondence principle which quantum physics needs to understand 'change'. Energy Efficiency will greatly increase because of these and associated technologic advancements as 'quantum computing' becomes a reality. Both were also first 'theoretical' insights - 'science fiction'. How can Physics and it's 'calculations' be amenable to spiritual principles? In the Gospel of John - Jesus the Messiah spoke these words to a 'Samaritan woman' who was drawing water from a well; "God is a spirit and those that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in Truth". This 'insight' corresponds with what philosophic tradion; both East and West - discern as the 'Rationality of Truth' and the irrationality of deceit. The growth and development of individuals, families, communities and even worldwide cultures succeed as rational adjustments to reality and respect for the rights of others become living testaments to a 'common good'. This ethical logic
is reason; being demonstrated physically in fractal geometry on a sub-microscopic scale. Being considered - the courage of conviction is needed in order to stand up for the truth; what is known to be right. Reason divides the rational from the irrational and this 'discernment' can provide 'advocacy' to the cause of justice.
Universal Ethics are advanced at the millennium.
